Senator Loren Legarda has received the “Gawad Katutubong Pagkalinga” award from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) for her invaluable service to the country’s indigenouspeoples and relentless efforts in preserving and promoting its traditional culture during the celebration of Dayaw: Philippine International Indigenous Peoples Festival 2016 at the Quezon City Memorial Circle.

The second episode, “Kanlungan – The Sheltering Filipino Home”, looks into how Filipino homes have been shaped by the environment. It features the Ivatan home, the Ifugao Bale, the T’boli longhouse, the Bahay Kubo and the Bahay na Bato.

A partnership between ANC and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), and conceptualized and hosted by Legarda, “Dayaw” is a six-part, 30-minute weekly documentary series that focuses on the preservation of the country’s culture and heritage.
